2008 SEASON INFORMATION
The Sands Volleyball Club
is a place for active people to have fun.
In 1987 we opened with four volleyball courts and fifty-six teams. Last year we added our twentieth lighted sand court. The atmosphere is friendly and very casual.
With twenty courts, the Sands is able to offer volleyball leagues for all skill levels... beginners to high power. You can play sixes, fours or doubles. Teams are Men's, Women's or Co-Ed (Mixed). At the Sands, Recreational Co-Ed Sixes is the most popular league. You do not have to be good, just fun. Select Beginners or Intermediate Levels. For all of our volleyball leagues scheduling is easy. You always play on the same day at the same time. You even get to pick the day and time. No need to have schedules tacked to the side of your refrigerator. No unwanted game times.
Recreational Men's and Co-Ed Softball Leagues are also available. Our leagues are relaxed. Fun and sportsmanship are stressed. The fields feature irrigated outfields, sand mix infields and top-of-the-line lighting.
The fun does not end after your game or match, some members say it just
begins. You can quench your thirst with a cold beer, frozen cocktail or soda.
If you are hungry grab a piece of pizza or a snack. Kick back on one of four patios
and take in the action around you. (We like
patios: sunny, shaded, covered and heated.) You can even watch professional action on ESPN in the
heated/air conditioned club house. The
court lights stay on late for pick up games.
The Sands hosts several
tournaments each year. Tournaments are fun to participate in as well as watch. There is tournament information in the "schedule section" of this page. Sign up sheets and additional information are available to the right of the Schedule Board in the main club house and in the tournament section of this site. This web site contains League Descriptions, Schedule of Events, League Fees and a Registration Form. Team uniforms are not needed, volleyballs are provided. All your team needs to provide are the bodies. Be sure to include your phone numbers and address are on your registration form. (We do not give out home phone numbers of team members and we do not sell our list.)
If you have any questions please call us at 255-9004. We have office hours from 2:00 to 6:00, Monday through Friday. If you want to drop by, we are usually there by noon working on something. Look for Mike.
Rentals
Don't forget, the Sands is a great place for company picnics, parties, reunions and rehearsal dinners. We ca accommodate small groups as well as groups as large as eight hundred. The Main Club House Area offers a heated and air-conditioned club house, covered and sunny patios, fourteen volleyball courts and a grass recreation area for badminton, croquet or other games. The Cabana Area has a mini-bar, seating for seventy six in the open-air shelter house and adjoining patio, four volleyball courts and two softball fields. The Sands staff prepares steaks and Creole to burgers and brats as well as snacks. You can use your own caterer if you wish. For more information click:
